Not only is our Tour Jacket pattern based on the classic 1950’s-’60s mechanic jacket, but the hand-drawn artwork print that lines the inside was influenced by the same era. The ‘Aloha’ style drawings were inspired by vintage Hawaiian radio & postcards from our Creative Director’s personal collection.

During the late 1950s as the US began to recover from WW2, and Hawaii became a US state, tourists flocked in their numbers to the ‘Paradise of the Pacific. The “coral cliffs, plunging ravines, serene waterfalls & sleepy bays” of the Hawaiian islands, that were a welcome contrast to post-war America, were often described as the “childhood dreams of an island of Paradise”.

The postcards depicted an alternate lifestyle- an escape from the everyday.

This need for escapism is something that really resonated with us, following what is now over a year of restriction and limited travel. We’ve got through what is hopefully the worst of a global pandemic, and now is the time to look forward to what awaits us. 

The Tour Jacket is a reflection of ‘post-war optimism’, and a reminder that good times are ahead.

The hardy material- finished with antique brass buttons & metalware, and the timeless silhouette combined, make for a staple piece that will be with you for the long run.

US & ROW customers wishing to buy the custom chain-stitched Tour Jacket must switch their store location to United Kingdom. US  and ROW customers will be charged in British £, however this will be converted into dollars via your bank, which will be reflected on your bank statement.
